This matches a measured Raman spectrum against 11,415 reference spectra from the RRUFF database using nearest-neighbor similarity. No neural network is involved; the match is a direct spectral comparison.
An identification therefore traces to a specific reference spectrum that can be inspected. Where an identification must be defended, the matched RRUFF entry and its similarity score are more readily justified than a classifier confidence value.
