One global ground filter has to compromise across a whole site. Settings gentle enough to keep vegetation out of the ground class on a wooded slope will smooth away micro-relief on open ground, and settings that preserve micro-relief will leave understory behind.
AFwizard splits the site into terrain segments and tunes filter parameters for each one. The lab used it for the Tyson and Greenwood filtering runs, where slope, canopy and ground cover all varied across the survey.
Selection is interactive and the output is a classified point cloud.
